Gender Equality

We are one of 1,800 global companies which have signed the United Nations’ seven Women’s Empowerment Principles. We believe in equal opportunities for everyone. As a result, for our staff, which includes over 11,000 employees, we have created an environment where everyone can realise their full potential, regardless of their gender, nationality, religion, or any other status that may serve as the basis for making unfair distinctions among co-workers. Our employees come from approximately 20 countries, and we see this diversity as a chance for development and exchange of great ideas and experiences.

Apart from fostering absolute gender equality, in our workplace environment, we also insist on unconditional respect for all other human rights guaranteed by the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia, international treaties, and relevant legislative provisions. NIS has been actively working on prevention and sanctioning of all forms of discrimination or unequal treatment of employees, job applicants, business partners, suppliers, clients and other third parties with which the Company cooperates. We have adopted a series of affirmative measures in this field, including a day off for the first-graders’ mothers on the first day of school, gradual return to work after maternity leave, extra maternity pay.
